Amazing, the 1st words from his mouth were truthful ones, and this impressed me from the start. So I fired up skype, and sat in 3 MTTs while Banksoir watched...
Ideas and input came thick and fast, not so much that my head was blown off with all the information, but enough to make me realize that my game needed some work just from him watching for 30mins
with out saying a whole lot.
Two words I kept hearing during hands I was involved in; "POSITION" and "TABLE DYNAMICS" (ok, so 3 words). My biggest leak was picked up in the 1st 20 mins, limping with weak/marginal
hands, this I was told is a no no, "why limp into a pot, that you can win with a raise", bet sizing then was covered, I would open a pot with a raise of probably 4 times the BB, when I can get the
same answer, winning pot, or being reraised, I can save chips each time I raise by making it 2.5 to 2.7 times the bb.
After he watched for what seemed like an age, he said what he thought, where we could improve, and what sort of games he thought I should be playing with the bankroll I had on offer. So it wasn’t
only the hands played that was covered, but also bankroll management, bet sizing, position, in fact so much more, and this was only the 1st session.
After this I decided to play 3 MTTs on Ladbrokes poker, before they departed to microgaming, and managed to ft all 3 MTTs, winning the $4 rebuy. I’m not saying it was all down to the sessions with
Neil, but I feel more confident, and better equipped to deal with hands and situations when they arise now, than I did before them sessions... Plus, the winnings from the 3 MTTs I played that day
more than covered the cost of the sessions, so it has been all worth while, straight away!
If I'm going to have a monthly bankroll of say $1200, and the cost of 2 sessions is $200-$300, I feel it is a very worth while investment.
