DAN HARRINGTON - HARRINGTON ON CASH VOLUME 1

_RECOMMENDED FOR___________________________________________________________

Beginners and intermediate cash players, MTT or STT players looking to move to cash, or limit players looking to move to no limit.

In Harrington on Cash Games, well known poker player/author and 1995 WSOP main event winner Dan Harrigton, and co-author Bill Robertie, reveal the key concepts required to win on today's no-limit full ring holdem cash games.  There are two books, and they translate equally well to live or online play.

This first book, Volume 1, concentrates principally on tight-aggressive play.  The basics are covered well, explaining the fundamental principles of tight play.  Various elements are discussed, including stack size, and the value of pot commitment as pots increase in size.

Tight pre-flop play is covered in detail, and the book moves on to post-flop play, explaining the different strategies that should be used against one opponent and against multiple opponents.

Like "Harrington on hold'em", the book is full of in depth hand analysis, including various real hands played in high stakes games by the worlds top pro's. At each street, the authors present the likely analysis and optimal play of each player, like zooming in into the minds of top professionals, taking into account only the information available to each of them at each step.

Although perhaps not quite as good as his tournament series, this is key book for all cash game players.  Dan preaches getting the basics right before you do anything else, and this book will definitely help with that.
