RICHARD D. HARROCH, LOU KRIEGER - POKER FOR DUMMIES

_RECOMMENDED FOR___________________________________________________________

Beginners, and anyone who wants to start playing poker.

With more than 150 million books in print, covering 1,300+ topics, For Dummies is the most widely recognized and highly regarded reference series in the world.  'Poker for Dummies' follows the tried and trusted formula of explaining a subject, without technical jargon, in a simple and concise way.

The book covers various types of poker; hold'em, omaha, 7 card stud, and 7 stud hilo, with rules, advice, and tactics for each.

There's also a lot of general poker information and concepts, including a good chapter on bankroll management.  Bluffing, home games, opponents' body language, tournaments, it's all here.

Don't be fooled by the title - although this book is aimed at novices, there's a lot here for people who can play already - this book covers everything you will need to know to sit down at your first tournament or cash game, from betting strategy, what cards to play, poker etiquette and the all imporant positional considerations.

Theres a lot of useful information in this book, and it's very well presented, making it an enjoyable read.  If you have a partner/friend/family member who looks vaguely interested in 'this poker thing' that you play, or if you've recently taken up the game, then buy them this book!
