COMMON HEADS UP MATCHES IN HOLD'EM

Pretty often in Hold 'em you find yourself all in pre flop against one opponent.  The table below shows some common match ups, your % equity when all in preflop, and the ratio of hands you win on a 1 in x basis.

As splits are quite rare all in preflop except where against the same hand, your % equity has been shown, which is the percentage of hands you win or split, virtually the same as the percentage of hands you win.

Where a hand is not specified as suited or offsuit, then the average has been calculated, using both.

For hands like 'pair' or Ax, then the average has been used again, over the entire range of all pairs or all Ax.  (Ax assumes x is not an A, ie Ax is never AA.)

Some interesting match ups include AA v 67 suited, (the best hand besides AA for beating AA, with AA having only 77.5% equity), and KQ suited v Ax that isnt AK or AQ, where the KQ has 44.5% equity, close to 50/50!

Random hands have also been included in the opponents hand selection, showing you how the hand fairs overall against a random opponents hand.  This is particularly of interest to us in the later stages of mtts when a player is forced to call all in the bb no matter what his cards are.

At the bottom of the table is a general round up, of a random pair against various groups of hands, and in these instances an average has been taken.

All the hand percentages below are taken from Pokerstove, or averaged from their results in some cases, and any mistakes are mine not theirs!
